They are seeking a Health and Nutrition Manager to lead projects focused on Primary Health Care and integrated nutrition interventions in Cabo Delgado. Overall Job Purpose
Working directly under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Manage, The Health and Nutrition Manager is responsible for the management of Primary Health Care and Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition’ (IMAM) projects in collaboration with partners. The position holder will supervise Health and nutrition interventions: provide specialized inputs into planning, implementation and reporting of health & nutrition interventions in the field. S/he will support and empower health and nutrition staff to deliver high-quality activities and ensure alignment with health and nutrition national and international standards. This role will also ensure effective integration of multi-sectoral activities, promote coordination across other sectors, and supervise the health and nutrition team. Responsibilities include project team management, budget oversight, logistical coordination, implementation of activities (for both JIA and partners), and monitoring of performance indicators and beneficiary feedback. S/he will ensure that interventions contribute to Mozambique’s Ministry of Health effort in reducing morbidity and mortality especially among children and women.
What you will do
1. Strategy and Vision
- Actively support the values of Johanniter and thus shapes the country programme accordingly.
- Support the development and implementation of the country strategy in line with JIA strategy.
- Support the development of long-term programming as well as exit strategies.
2. Leadership
- Actively lives and leads by example, upholding the Johanniter leadership principles, supporting wellbeing, and creating a culture where the leadership mindset can emerge and thrive, actively empowering and guiding team members to an inclusive, accountable work environment to achieve shared goals and embrace change. This is reflected in the day-to-day activities in line with the Code.
- Provides leadership and guidance to Health and Nutrition Officers according to JIA leadership principles, staff policies, and JIA strategy.
- Assists in the recruitment process for health and nutrition project staff, ensuring the selection of qualified and competent staff.
- Implements JIA policies and their adaptation to local conditions to meet the specific needs of the project region
- Takes responsibility for the strict implementation, application, and adherence to Johanniter Security Rules, Guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in the project region, prioritizing the safety and security of all staff and stakeholders.
3. Provision of technical, administrative and management support
- Contribute to identify geographical areas of interest according to humanitarian context, vulnerable populations’ needs, national and donors’ priorities.
- Work with Senior Programme Manager in developing and implementing health and nutrition programs.
- Support the planning, coordination, reporting and monitoring of program activities to ensure timely and quality delivery.
